LG Electronics has achieved its highest-ever financial performance for the second quarter, fueled by a strong market demand for home appliances, vehicle parts, and HVAC systems. The company announced a preliminary operating profit of 1.58 trillion won ($1.04 billion), marking a significant 146.9% increase from the same period last year. Meanwhile, revenue rose by 14.9% to reach 23.83 trillion won, exceeding market projections.

For the first half of the year, LG’s revenue amounted to 47.56 trillion won, with an operating profit of 3.25 trillion won, both figures setting new records for the company. This impressive performance was bolstered by increased sales across major business sectors, enhanced cost efficiency, growth in subscription services, expansion of webOS, and stronger online sales channels.

Key growth areas for the company included its home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC divisions. The surge in demand for high-end home appliances, automotive infotainment systems, and cooling solutions, especially in Europe during recent heatwaves, significantly contributed to the company’s success. LG underscored its ongoing investments in future growth sectors, focusing on innovative technologies like AI data center cooling solutions and advanced robotic components.

The robust results underscore LG’s strategic direction and commitment to innovation, positioning the company well in a competitive market. As the company continues to invest in cutting-edge technologies and expand its product offerings, it aims to maintain its upward trajectory in the coming quarters.
